"Location, location, location" and "beach, beach and more beaches" can sum up Agadir, Morocco. Although the city itself does not boast the same Moroccan flair of other cities, the beach makes up for it. Located in the south of Morocco these beaches are very popular with the European crowds. Along the beach there are restaurants and shops for your convenience. Many European style cafes provide a modern feel to this unique city and the coffee is wonderful and flavorful. The food is good and a little simpler than some of the other Moroccan hot spots like Marrakesh or Tangiers. Shopping is not characterized by the bartering that is very evident in other areas of Morocco. Very little is actually made in this area so most trinkets and items for sale are shipped in and prices are set unlike many other places in Morocco. If you are not into bartering the prices down this is a good spot for you, besides most of the products are already very reasonably priced.
Agadir is located on the Atlantic Ocean coast and has the Atlas Mountains a short distance to the west making for a stunning setting for a soothing vacation spot. One of the most important port cities in Morocco, Agadir is also famous for its fishing and sardine production. A specialty is salted sardines cooked over an open flame and sardines can be found in so many variations of the local food.
