Through the middle of the City of Geneva flows the Rhone River and on what is locally called the Left Bank, you will find hours of enjoyment as you explore what this beautiful city has to offer. You may start your day by taking a quiet walk through English Garden which is where you will find the famous Flower Clock, or behold the miracle of the Jet d'Eau, a man-made geyser that shoots water over 500 feet in the air. If a day of chess is on your agenda, than you will not want to miss a trip to Bastions Park where you will find oversized chess boards located on the park grounds for your mind challenging entertainment.
There is so much history and culture to be found in Geneva, and planning ahead will give you the optimum amount of time to see everything that is on your must-see list. Among this list you should make time for The Grand Theatre, Rath Museum, and the art collection found at Little Palace; however, if you only have time for one adventure into the past, you should not miss the Museum of Art and History which displays over half a million items from classical antiques to medieval artifacts.
Because of the close proximity to a very large mountain range, as well as the grand Lake Geneva the temperatures in this city tend to be fairly mild. Geneva does receive rainfall year round and when mixed with north winds this makes winter temperatures a bit cold, however summer temperatures tend to be very warm.
