Although Jaco Beach is the main attraction of this vibrant city, there are many other compelling attractions. Featuring gorgeous panoramic ocean views and surrounded by striking natural beauty, Jaco is in close proximity to some truly wonderful natural resources. Carara National Park is a mere 25 kilometres north of the city and features exuberant wildlife, dense rainforest, and is home to the Scarlet Macaw. Playa Hermosa lies six kilometers south of Jaco and also provides world-class surfing conditions that draw the most dedicated surfers. Playa Herradura is a beautiful black sand beach just four kilometers north of Jaco providing a more mellow and relaxed scene but with equally consistent waves.
The opportunity for adventure and fun is endless with excellent off shore fishing and numerable tours including ATV tours, crocodile safaris, boat and kayak excursions and white water rafting. Costa Rica is famed for its eco-tours and Jaco is sure to please with horseback riding treks, canopy tours and hiking through the bordering jungle.
