The town of Malgrat de Mar is a vibrant resort located on the Costa del Maresme, part of the Costa Brava, in northeastern Spain. The town has a good selection of excellent hotels and holiday rental accommodation, and there is a good selection of bars and restaurants, with the best restaurants located in the old town. There is lively nightlife to be found, especially at the bars and discos along the seafront, that offer entertainment into the early hours of the morning. This resort town is especially popular with families looking for a seaside holiday in child-friendly surroundings. The vibrant nightlife attracts younger people, while couples of all ages can be certain to find activities and entertainment that suits their interests and lifestyles.
Malgrat de Mar's long history is visible in the town's architecture. The old castle, El Castell, situated on top of the hill and surrounded by a lovely park, is just one of the many well preserved old buildings. The very large St. Nicolau church, built in the sixteenth century, is known as the Cathedral of the Coast. These sites and many others can be reached using the mini road train.
Malgrat de Mar enjoys a warm Mediterranean climate with long hours of sunshine and low rainfall. The best time to visit is April to October, as the temperature ranges from 20 degrees rising to 30 degrees during the summer months.
