It is, however, the beautiful sandy beaches of Sitges that attract most visitors. Nine breakwaters exist between the town's church at one end and the Terramar Hotel at the other. They provide shelter for the golden beaches, each beach equipped with refreshment kiosks, showers and sun-loungers. Although sunbathing is, by far, the most popular activity in Sitges, the town also provides a picturesque setting for a game of golf. Two main golf clubs are located just outside of the town center, the closest being Terramar, a 25-minute walk away. Numerous festivals occur throughout the year, most notably Carnival in February-March, and the Santa Tecla folklore festival in September.
If you are looking for fun family activities, there is a mini-golf facility in the city center itself. On a grander scale, a visit to the huge theme park, Universal Port Adventure, with its five worlds of Far West, Mediterránia, Mexico, China and Polynesia, will provide exciting fun for the whole family. The Park's popular attractions include the Sea Odyssey underwater adventure, the Stampida roller coaster ride and the Grand Canyon Rapids water ride.
Some fantastic dining facilities exist in Sitges, the most popular being Mezzanine, Al Fresco, El Raco de la Carreta and La Salseta.
Sitges enjoys a wonderful climate with hot summers and cool winters. Ideal weather conditions can be expected in the months of May, June and September. August is the hottest month, while January is the coolest with temperatures averaging 13°C.
