The best place to socialize with the residents is often in the local bar where people are often found in the mornings and evenings. The north of Spain is similar to the rolling, green hills of Ireland while the south resembles Moroccan landscapes and architecture. Relics of the country's incredible history can be found in prehistoric cave paintings, crumbling castles, Roman ruins and impressive Renaissance cathedrals. Cordoba, Granada and Madrid contain very unique architecture and Madrid is also home to the top three art museums in Spain. Along Spain's southern coastline, the pleasant beaches near Almeria, Malaga, and Huelva beckon. If you prefer a more developed resort town with a busier beach, you will want to visit the areas of Costa de la Luz and the Costa del Sol. Other sites and activities that are available in this wonderful country include numerous wildlife parks, trekking in The Pyrenees, skiing at Andalucia's Sierra Nevada mountain chain, and exploring cave-dwellings in the area between the towns of Guadix and Baza.
